Our Farm

We have been farming here on the boarder between Wiltshire and Gloucestershire for over 100 years. Cowage Farm is nestled in the Cotswold landscape and run by 4th generation family member Tom. The farms fields are bounded by traditional stone walls, with both arable and pasture land. The River Avon, where our fold (herd) are often found relaxing, meanders through.

The farm is a traditional mixed farm of crops and livestock.  We currently have 300 commercial beef cattle and pigs. The management and cultivation of the land is essential to producing and maintaining healthy soils and we ensure we rotate our crops annually to maximise yields. The straw and grain from the crops is used to feed the livestock and the manure to fertilise the soils.

Our highland cows were our latest addition to the farm in 2016.

Since then our Highlands have certainly proven to be a firm favourite with everyone that visits the farm and especially from passing cyclists and walkers. Many stop to admire our calves with their mums in the meadows.
